Week Ended with Finding a Junonia on Sunday!

Here are various photos from last week...

On Wednesday, April 16, 2014, found these along the shore or in/near the sand dunes... no digging - went on my lunch break.

It was a beautiful day at St Andrews State Park

...followed by a beautiful sunset!

Lots of clouds and rain but went out early Saturday to one of my spots with trowel in hand and was not disappointed!

Then Saturday evening walked out to watch the sunset and came upon a great spot near my condo and dug up a storm with a broken shell since I didn't bring my handy shovel! Fun plus the sky was totally amazing too!

Sunday morning early, went back to the same new spot and filled 2 bags along with finding a beautiful Junoina! Happy Resurrection Day to all!!

Shell clean up for these I'm giving away this week :)

  1. Hi, Cathy,

I have enjoyed reading through your posts and seeing the fabulous photos. Shelling is a love of mine too and think Panama Beach just got bumped up a few spots on my list of shores to discover. I too share a love for Jesus Christ and am always and forever floored by the complexity of His creation--shell and human alike.

If you're on FB, I'd love to connect: Julie Patrick-Barnhill (also, Julie Barnhill). Happy Shelling!!

  2. Your pictures are stunning. I had no idea that junonias were that far north. I'll have to pay better attention next time I am up in the panhandle.
