POLAR PANHANDLE

You may have read that Florida and much of the South got blasted yesterday and today with a major winter snow/ice storm called Leon.

Icicles

It caused unbelievable havoc in Atlanta and other places. Here it wasn't too terrible but it was very very cold!

So couldn't go to work and then was getting cabin fever so took a walk in 28 deg temp... see what I found! It was worth it :D

The ones I'm keeping

And a few ice pics...

18 Bags of Shells

Received a nice email from Annia today...

HEY CATHY,

THIS IS ANNIA LANGSTON AND I JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH I ENJOY YOUR BLOG PICTURES. I JUST WON’T TO BE THERE SO MUCH. ANN AND ROGER ARE DOWN THIS WEEK. I WAS SO PLEASED TO SEE HOW MANY SHELLS YOU GIVE AWAY. I KNOW YOU'RE MAKING OTHER PEOPLE AS HAPPY AS YOU DID ME. I HAVE USED ALL OF MY SHELLS UP. I BOUGHT CHEAP LITTLE CUTE VASES AT TJ MAX AND I FILLED THEM WITH SHELLS AND GAVE ALL MY FOUR SISTERS, MY NEIGHBORS, AND SOME OF MY CHURCH FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS. THEY ALL LOVED THEM.

THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF THAT. I ALSO GAVE TO FRIENDS WHO WERE IN THE HOSPITAL AND IF I NEEDED TO GIVE SOMEONE A LITTLE HAPPY, THAT IS WHAT THEY GOT. I LOVE TELLING THE STORY TO EVERYONE WHOM I GIVE SHELLS.

YOUR LITTLE GRANDAUGHTER IS SO BEAUTIFUL. IS SHE THE ONE WHO WAS WITH YOU THAT DAY WE GOT THE SHELLS. YOUR DAUGHTER IS ALSO PRETTY AMAZING AND VERY BRAVE. I TOLD LAURA AND I WANT TO TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE SO BLESSED TO LIVE ON THE BEACH. TAKE CARE AND

KEEP ON SHELLING !!!

So I replied and told her I had more shells for her if she wanted. She did! So Roger, her brother-in-law, and his friend, Michael, came over to get them. They were surprised to see 18 bags of seashells! I told them to divide up between them all... I gotta make room for more LOL!

Roger and Michael, Shell Couriers!

One of the bags is from today

Hardly anyone was there at lunchtime... too cold

Most of the shells I found were popping out of the sand dunes like this fighting conch... SO FUN!
