Hey Cathy. I was on PCB this weekend and tried to dig for shells like you do, but I didn't find a thing. I was at the dog park at Pier Park. I live in Dothan and go to PCB a lot just to look for shells. Where is a really good place to dig for shells? I NEVER find the pretty big ones that you find.
Hi Amy, good question! People ask me that all the time. And it is getting harder to find the cool shells. I never know where I'll end up... sometimes at the state park all the way to the county pier and of course lately, Navarre. which is where I'm moving this month. I know PCB Ace Hardware on Back Beach Road (98) still has lots of shells from the beach restoration but I don't go there cuz for me, the fun (sometimes frustrating lol) is in the hunt.
Hi Cathy, I will be staying near Camp Helen state park next week, and last August I found a gorgeous scotch bonnnet, nutmegs and three sundials. Wondering if you had found anything this month in the area?

ReplyDeleteI've never been to Camp Helen state park and now since I've moved to Navarre, probably won't be going there anytime soon. Happy Shelling!
